Individual Therapy Sessions

When reaching out for an appointment, you will likely reach either Barbara Mooney or Hannah Samawi who will gather information about your history and needs before placing you with a provider. We are intentional about matching you with an associate that will best meet your needs based on personality types and clinical training and expertise. If you are seeking a specific provider, we are happy to connect you directly to them if they have an opening. The foundation for therapeutic work is based on the relationship between the individual seeking care and the clinician. If we do not have someone on our team that can accommodate a referral, we collaborate with a host of other providers in the community that we trust and work with closely.

During individual therapy sessions we integrate a variety of methods to work toward your goals in healing trauma & addiction.
Some of these modalities include:

Internal Family Systems/Advanced Schema “Mode” model (Parts Work): Focuses on understanding and harmonizing different parts of the self, each with its own beliefs, emotions, and roles.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): Emphasizes mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance skills.

Somatic Therapy: Addresses the connection between the mind and body, often utilizing techniques to release physical tension stored from emotional experiences.

Interpersonal Neurobiology: Studies how relationships shape the brain and how the brain influences relationships, emphasizing the importance of social connections in mental health.

Polyvagal Theory: Explores how the autonomic nervous system regulates emotions and social engagement, offering insights into trauma responses and relational dynamics.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): Uses bilateral stimulation to process distressing memories and alleviate associated symptoms.

Brenee Brown’s Shame Resilience Work: involves connecting with your authentic self and fostering meaningful relationships with others
