FAQs

What to expect:

Before your initial session, you will receive an email asking you to set up an account in our Therapy Notes portal. This will allow your clinician to send you your intake paperwork virtually. We ask that this be completed before your first session. It will include a history form, release of information, payment authorization, informed consent, and collateral contacts.

When you arrive at the office, you are welcome to get comfortable in the lobby and your provider will come out to greet you at the time of your appointment. During your first session, we will review your intake paperwork together and go over any questions you may have about therapy. This is also an opportunity to talk about your hopes for recovery.

Do we accept Insurance?

We do not accept insurance and our rates vary depending on years in practice and specialized training. Insurance mandates that individuals receive a diagnosis to establish “medical necessity” and we do not believe everyone that wants therapy meets criteria for a diagnostic label. In addition, very few insurance providers reimburse for couples and family therapy. We believe that healing relationships is imperative to supporting individuals and families in recovery.

We can provide a super bill for clients to request reimbursement for out of network benefits. There is no guarantee that your insurance will reimburse.

How long is a session?

Individual sessions are typically 45-50 minutes.

Family and couples sessions may vary depending on client needs.

What happens if I cancel a session or forget?

If you miss a session and have not provided us with at least 24 hours notice, you will be required to pay the session fee.

How long does therapy usually last?

Therapy is an individualized process and the number of sessions vary greatly depending on the client’s goals.
